About Mike Dessino
Mike Dessino was a stand out wrestler from Middlesex, NJ who continued his wrestling career at Bloomsburg University, which is a Division I program.
He held many titles at the district, state, and national levels. Wrestling is what helped Mike make his choice in where to attend college, which led him to meeting the love of his life, Katrina, whom he would soon marry.

After college, Mike circled back to Middlesex to help coach the Middlesex High School wrestling team.
Mike was then honored to accept a position with the Lewisburg Federal Correctional Center in Pennsylvania as a corrections officer.

His career and life with his family were tragically cut short on June 1, 2020. Michael was on his way home from work to see his pregnant wife when he was hit by another driver.

Mike lost his life that night and everyone who knew him suffered an unimaginable loss.

Since Mike's death, his family is keeping his memory alive by starting the Mike Dessino Memorial Foundation. Through this foundation, Scholarships are awarded annually to senior high school wrestlers to help with their future education.
The Mike Dessino Memorial Foundation also gives back to the community; for example, purchasing wrestling team warm up uniforms, sponsoring the Middlesex High School baseball team trip, and the flag ceremony at the Lincoln Blvd Memorial.
In addition, the foundation was created as a way to secure the college education of Mike's son, Dominic. Mike was unable to meet his son, but was so elated to become a father and wanted only the very best for him.

The Mike Dessino Memorial Foundation is our way to help fulfill his most important wish.
